Very deep garnet in color with a hint of purple, the Farmer’s Leap 2005 Shiraz has pronounced notes of ripe black currant and blackberry with some tar, damp earth, licorice and roasted coffee beans. Some cedar notes still remain. Full-bodied with firm grainy tannins and crisp acid, it has plenty of expressive dark berry fruit and earth flavors, finishing long with lingering notes of cloves and anise. Drink it now to 2016+. |

Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2005 ‘The Brave’ Shiraz has a seriously earthy / savory character, emitting aromas of dark chocolate covered coffee beans, hung meat, moss covered tree bark, damp humus, slightly burnt toast and nuts over warm blueberries and blackberry preserves plus a whiff of prunes. Very full-bodied, rich and powerful in the mouth, it has medium-firm velvety tannins and medium high acid, finishing long and earthy. Drink it now through 2015. |
